2026 KMS Late Summer School
2026 KMS Late Summer School
Earlier this summer, Monika Kobylecka created a new kind of class for students of Kiiko Matsumoto. She began by selecting a variety of Kiiko’s most remarkable treatment demonstrations. Then, during live sessions she described, step-by-step, Kiiko’s clinical decision making process. These steps reflected not just Kiiko’s fifty years of clinical and scholarly research, but a remarkable economy of effort in her busy clinical practice.
Even advanced students are sometimes surprised by where Kiiko begins — and her shifts in direction as the treatment progresses. Kiiko’s “short cuts”, and “through lines” are critical to her clinical success — and to making every moment, and every needle, count.
Monika’s “Late Summer School” will have the same format with close study Kiiko’s strategies, drawn from nine different treatment demonstrations during three, 2.5 hour case discussions. Once again, the focus will be on learning to get better results in less time.
You need not have attended the Early Summer class to register in this upcoming class.

Here’s what students in the Early Summer School class have to say about the close discussion of cases during the new format for the live Zoom sessions:
"For a few years now, I am more hungry about what goes through Kiiko's mind when she's treating -- what is the treatment strategy here with this particular person with such a complicated health history? How does Kiiko pick her starting point and why does she choose this direction instead of this other possibility at this point of the treatment? -- you get the gist.
I gradually realize that the answers to most of this come from experience and to a certain degree intuition. The path in each treatment will reveal itself if I listen to what the body says in response to the 'fundamentals,' and that experience will grow into something else, call it intuition if you want.
Take the 'Broken Diaphragm' case for example. The boldest move was Kiiko's 1st move to start with R-4. It's brilliant and brave, and it was the experience of her 45yrs of exemplary practice and research speaking. Someone with only 5yrs of experience would probably choose a safer path instead. And that's totally ok because we should be doing something that is 'age' appropriate! But that is also why it's immensely important to see her do that because as students, we need to be reminded that at some point, our very own experience and practice will inform us of the best path forward, and that good medicine is an art."--student with 167 hours of study
"I found it very helpful to understand why Kiiko went in the direction she went. Monika is so clear in her explanations.I was grateful that we were able to ask questions during the class. The flow of the class was really great." --student with 90 hours of KMS with Turning Point Seminars
"The time with Monika is invaluable. She is thorough, patient and her passion for KMS is clear. She provides clarity and is patient. The discussion with the breakdown of each case is super useful.
Kiiko's very quick and the work is quite nuanced so the interpretation in class discussion is very insightful. Thanks for being creative and having so much integrity with the work. I am really glad I signed up."--student with 180 hours
